Proposal of Jinju City Issues to Nam Seong-hyeon, Director of Korea Forest Service, on Site
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jo Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, attended the publication celebration of Professor Kim Ki-chan of Catholic University’s book K-Management Leading the Republic of Korea to an Advanced Nation held on the 7th at the Korea Automobile Industry Cooperative in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
About 50 officials from politics, business, and academia, including Mayor Jo, Nam Sung-hyun, head of the Korea Forest Service, Jung Yeon-seung, president of the Korea Distribution Association, Kim Jae-gu, next president of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, and Seo Yong-gu, dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration at Sookmyung Women’s University, attended the publication celebration.
K-Management Leading the Republic of Korea to an Advanced Nation deals with K-Management, which has become the core of 10 global companies representing Korea, such as Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai Motor Company, Lotte, and SK. The book was co-authored by Kim Ki-chan, Seo Yong-gu, and seven other authors.
Joo Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, attended the publication celebration for the spread of K-Entrepreneurship.
The lead author, Professor Kim, served as a distinguished professor at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) in the United States and as chairman of the Innovation Economy Subcommittee of the Presidential National Economic Advisory Council. His major work includes People-Centered Entrepreneurship.
In his greeting, Mayor Jo said, “I deeply appreciate the affection and interest of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration in Jinju’s K-Entrepreneurship,” and added, “We will strive to spread Jinju’s K-Entrepreneurship to the world.”
Jung Yeon-seung, president of the Korea Distribution Association and co-author, said, “Jinju is undoubtedly the capital of entrepreneurship in Korea,” and added, “Our team, who co-authored the book, will participate in creating the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship platform and spreading it worldwide.”
Kim Jae-gu, next president of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, said, “Jisoo-myeon in Jinju City is the holy land of Korean entrepreneurship,” and emphasized, “Academics involved in studying Korean entrepreneurship, such as the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, must visit Jisoo, the holy land of K-Entrepreneurship.”
At the event, Mayor Jo also took the lead in resolving pressing projects of Jinju City.
At the event site, he directly explained the projects to Nam Sung-hyun, head of the Korea Forest Service, and requested 6.5 billion KRW in national funding support. In addition, he requested permission for mountain area change of use related to the maintenance project of Mangjinsan Beacon Tower.
