Carrot Market Job Posting Comment "Only Used Goods Will Come" Sparks Experienced Workers Disparagement Controversy... Apology Issued After 6 Days
"What Are You Usually Thinking About?" Criticism Continues
The cooking YouTuber 'Seungwoo Appa,' who sparked controversy for derogatory remarks referred to as the 'Danggeun Market used comments,' posted an official apology six days later.
On the 7th, Seungwoo Appa stated on his YouTube channel, "I sincerely apologize for my inappropriate remarks that crossed the line regarding comments on Danggeun Market during the live broadcast on February 3rd."
He said, "In a broadcast aimed at many people, biased and excessive remarks about a specific platform or its users are my fault and reckless behavior without any excuse," adding, "I am currently actively requesting to arrange a meeting where I can directly apologize to the Danggeun Market side."
He further explained that the apology was delayed due to overseas schedules and bowed his head, saying, "I am fully aware of the anger caused. I apologize again."
The controversy began when Seungwoo Appa visited YouTuber 'Subingsu's restaurant on the 1st and gave advice in a video. When Subingsu mentioned posting a job advertisement on Danggeun Market, Seungwoo Appa pointed out, "Only used items would come in."
As the controversy grew, the official Danggeun Market account commented on the video, "Seungwoo Appa, many business owners are already using it through fast neighborhood-based matching, so please try using Danggeun Alba," but Seungwoo Appa reportedly deleted this comment.
In a live broadcast on the 3rd, he repeated the problematic remarks about Danggeun Market, saying, "Please do not post free ads. Seriously. It’s shameless... I know about the function to find people on Danggeun, but accepting job postings on Danggeun Market is not easy. Somehow, people seem like used items."
Despite Seungwoo Appa's apology, netizens' reactions remain cold. One netizen commented on the apology, "It’s sad because it feels like what kind of thoughts he usually has, not just a simple slip of the tongue." Another said, "I doubt the sincerity. No matter how busy the schedule is, was there a reason to stay silent for four days after the live broadcast?"
