Yoon's Condolence Message to President Erdogan: "We Will Not Spare Support"

[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] President Yoon Suk-yeol expressed his condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose country suffered significant casualties due to an earthquake, the presidential office announced on the 7th. President Yoon emphasized that Turkey is a brotherly nation and sent a message of sympathy stating, "We will spare no effort to provide all possible support for the swift recovery of the damage."


Earlier, during the morning Cabinet meeting, President Yoon instructed the dispatch of rescue personnel to Turkey and rapid support for the disaster relief. He said, "It is only natural to help our brotherly nation, Turkey," and added, "I hope all ministries actively cooperate in assisting and supporting this disaster."

In particular, he ordered the prompt deployment of rescue personnel using our military transport aircraft and the urgent provision of medical supplies. He also requested close cooperation with Turkish authorities through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local diplomatic missions. In the early hours of the day, President Yoon released a message saying, "I deeply sympathize with the people of Turkey and Syria who are going through difficult times. Korea expresses its deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones."
