Patent Office Introduces Electronic Braille Service... "Improving Accessibility for the Visually Impaired"

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced that it will start an electronic Braille service from the 7th.

The electronic Braille service is introduced to enhance the accessibility of the KIPO website for visually impaired individuals. Through this service, visually impaired users can convert various intellectual property policies, systems, and press releases on the KIPO website into Braille files for use.

KIPO has already complied with national web accessibility standards by providing alternative text for images and enabling website navigation using only the keyboard for visually impaired users.

Kim Ki-beom, Director of the Information Customer Support Bureau at KIPO, stated, “We have introduced the electronic Braille service to support visually impaired individuals in directly accessing patent administration information. We will continue to improve patent administration services so that anyone can easily access and utilize the information on the KIPO website equally.”
