Genesis BBQ Group, which declared a "stunning 33.5% increase in starting salary for college graduates," received over 2,500 applications for its 2023 first half new employee recruitment within just two weeks.
On the 7th, according to the franchise industry, BBQ stated, "This is the first time since the company's founding that so many applicants have gathered in such a short period."
Earlier, until early last month, BBQ conducted recruitment for new and experienced employees through the BBQ recruitment site as well as job search sites like Saramin and JobKorea.
The new employee recruitment fields included ▲Operations (S/V, Supervisor) ▲Sales (F/C, Franchise Consultant) ▲Marketing ▲Strategic Planning ▲Information Strategy ▲Research and Development ▲Direct Store Manager/Manager, totaling seven areas. Among them, the operations and sales field positions attracted the most applicants, followed by marketing.
Among the new employee applicants, only those who pass the document screening will proceed to the first interview conducted through an artificial intelligence (AI) competency test and then the final interview. Afterward, the final successful candidates will undergo training and education at Chicken University before being assigned to their respective departments and starting their official work.
Yoon Hong-geun, Chairman of BBQ, said, "The reason for the unexpectedly large number of applicants is that BBQ is now recognized not just as a simple chicken franchise but as a global dining company steadily growing and acknowledged as a brand representing Korean cuisine in the global market," adding, "We will spare no support to help employees grow into talents in their respective roles through various training programs even after joining."
