According to the city, the construction of the Ok-gye Branch was prepared for farmers in the Ok-gye area, who had difficulty benefiting from the rental business due to its distant location from the existing rental centers.

A budget of approximately 2.07 billion KRW has been allocated for the construction of the rental center building with a total area of 660㎡, and 800 million KRW will be invested in purchasing about 100 rental agricultural machines and 10 management equipment units.

With this, Gangneung City will operate a total of four centers: the Sacheon Main Center in Sacheon-myeon, the Southern Branch in Bakwol-dong, the Western Branch in Seongsan-myeon, and the newly planned Ok-gye Branch.

A city official stated, "Farmers in the Ok-gye area will now be able to rent the agricultural machinery they need at any time," adding, "In particular, the Ok-gye area is equipped with the latest various agricultural machines incorporating new technologies to increase mechanization rates in the field crop sector, which is expected to alleviate labor shortages."
