The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced the ‘2023 Academic Year Public (National) Middle School Teacher Appointment Exam Final Passers’ on its website at 10 a.m. on the 7th.
The final passers this year were selected through the first exam (education theory and major subjects) and the second exam (practical skills and experiments, lesson plan preparation, teaching demonstration, and in-depth interview on teaching aptitude) across 24 subjects, with 726 passing for public schools and 2 for national schools.
Among the 726 successful candidates for public school teachers, 180 were male (24.8%), which is a 4.9% increase compared to last year’s 19.9%. The number of male passers last year was 123.
The passing scores were △Korean Language 156.67 △Mathematics 159.63 △English 172.93 △General Social Studies 181.57 △History 166.37 △Geography 169.37 △Physics 167.73 △Chemistry 147.38 △Biology 166.20, etc.
Meanwhile, the number of successful candidates under the disability quota was 20, which is 7 fewer than last year’s 27.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education also commissioned the national Ujin School’s special (secondary) subject exam up to the second stage this year and selected 2 final candidates.
The successful candidates will complete a pre-appointment job training from the 13th to the 22nd to adapt to the educational field, and will be appointed as new teachers starting from the 1st of next month according to the teacher supply plan.
