Yangsan Election Commission Also Visits to Discuss Countermeasures

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Yoon-jung] On the 6th, the Gyeongnam Nonghyup Gyeongnam Inspection Bureau visited the Nonghyup Central Association Yangsan Branch and Nonghyup offices in Yangsan to inspect and guide the promotion of fair elections.

They then visited the Yangsan City Election Commission to share recent issues and information related to election fraud and discussed joint response measures, cooperating on the promotion of fair elections.

This fair election guidance will be cross-checked not only in Gyeongsangnam-do but also in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The purpose is to ensure the appropriateness of handling election-related complaints by each cooperative and to prevent violations of the Entrusted Election Act, such as election interference by executives and employees.

Director Ryu Jong-ryeol stated, “Recently, illegal and fraudulent acts related to simultaneous cooperative head elections have been continuously reported in the media, raising social concern and causing worries about the credibility loss of Nonghyup. We ask that executives and employees of agricultural and livestock cooperatives comply with the Nonghyup Act and the Entrusted Election Act to prevent election-related disputes in the simultaneous cooperative head elections, and also guide candidates to eradicate illegal elections and establish a proper election culture.”
