Mayor Hong then explained to the Integrated New Airport Construction Headquarters the importance of passing the ‘Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport Special Act’ through the National Assembly within February, emphasizing that it is inappropriate to pit the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport and the Gadeokdo New Airport, both based on the ‘donation and concession’ method, against each other in a competitive framework. Since all the Yeongnam region metropolitan leaders share no disagreement, he ordered them to accurately understand the core issues and respond accordingly.

He praised the efforts of public officials and the Fire Headquarters, saying that the recent Jeongwol Daeboreum event, resumed after three years since COVID-19, was completed without any large or small forest fires or other fires, encouraging the hard work of the related officials.

Finally, Mayor Hong said, “If public officials change, Daegu changes,” and urged Daegu city officials to work with a sense of mission so that the public service community can lead the ‘Daegu Gulg(i) (Daegu’s Rise).’
