Jokuk's Daughter Reveals Face on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube Broadcast
"I Have Lived Proudly and Without Shame"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Cho Min, the eldest daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, appeared on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube show 'Humility is Hard News Factory' and revealed her face. Although Cho appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' four years ago, this is the first time she has shown her face and conducted an interview.
On the 6th, Cho appeared on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube show 'Humility is Hard News Factory' and commented on the prison sentence given to former Minister Cho, saying, "I think the prosecution, media, and political circles have been harsh to our family over the past four years," and added, "I want to ask whether they themselves or their families apply the same standards."
The broadcast was pre-recorded and filmed on the 3rd, the day former Minister Cho was sentenced to prison. Cho said, "(Former Minister Cho) did not discourage me from appearing on News Factory," and "My father always respects my decisions."

Regarding the reason for participating in the interview, Cho said, "Watching my father receive a prison sentence made me think, 'Am I not upright?'" and added, "I have lived uprightly and without shame. That is why I made this decision."
Cho revealed that former Minister Cho gave her several requests before attending court. She said, "He wrote them densely on A4 paper and posted it on the front door," and explained, "He said to cancel the mother's visitation application because as a convicted prisoner, she is only guaranteed six visits per month," and "He also wrote down the due dates for utility bills and taxes." She added, "My father piled books in front of the door and asked me to send them in sets of ten in the order they were stacked."
Cho is now in her second year as a medical doctor. She said she receives evaluations from those around her that she is "fully qualified." However, since her face was revealed on this broadcast, she decided not to work at a hospital. She said, "I do not want to cause harm," and "I will engage in free medical volunteer work going forward."
After the prosecution's investigation into former Minister Cho's family regarding admissions fraud and other issues, Cho has suffered from numerous fake news reports. However, she revealed that recent related lawsuits have brought in compensation money, which has helped her livelihood. She said, "There were false reports claiming that I drove a Porsche or demanded to be hired at a hospital dermatology department," and "Lawsuits for damages related to those are ongoing, and compensation money is gradually coming in." She added, "Although I suffered from fake news, it is now helping my life."
Regarding the possibility of her medical license being revoked, Cho said, "If that happens, I would think it is very unfair, but if the judicial system makes that decision, and if I still want to be a doctor then, I believe I can naturally go through the 10-year process again." She continued, "The medical license was one means to contribute to society," and "I will not become a doctor just to prove myself. I am confident I can be happy even if I am not Doctor Cho Min, and there are many things I want to do," she said.
Additionally, Cho said, "Personally, I have come to sincerely realize that my environment, which is not lacking, can be seen as a privilege by someone," and "Therefore, feeling sorry for my peers seems like a natural process, and I want to become a better person."
