Why Did Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Employees Smile Holding Business Cards?

Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Employees Provided with Business Cards... Enhancing External Relations and Internal Pride

Why Did Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Employees Smile Holding Business Cards? Business Card Front Example

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu Office employees now have business cards. This contrasts with most district office employees who do not have business cards.

Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) plans to provide business cards to all employees to improve the level of public service and boost employee morale when dealing with residents and external organizations.

The district is implementing the 'Employee Business Card Production' program for the first time this year, targeting all departments and dong (neighborhood) employees.

By expanding business card support, which was previously limited to team leaders and some employees, to all staff, it is expected to foster pride and self-esteem as public officials and contribute to smoother work processes.

The district will produce 100 business cards per employee, sized 9cm wide by 5cm high. Additional cards will be produced as needed for personnel changes or new hires in the future.

The front side of the business card includes basic information commonly found on business cards such as department, position, name, and contact details, while the back side contains a pledge to fulfill their mission as representatives of the public interest for the benefit of residents.

The back side text options are: ▲ "As representatives of the public interest, we will conduct administration faithful to laws and principles" ▲ "We will work for the development of Yeongdeungpo, the future of Yeongdeungpo, and the benefit of Yeongdeungpo residents" ▲ "With the mindset of 'as if managing my own business and household,' we will carefully manage the district’s finances through selection and concentration." There are three options in total, and individuals can choose one.

An employee entering their third year of public service this year said, "When performing public-facing duties, I often had to write my name and contact information on a memo pad because I didn’t have a business card to give to residents who asked." He added, "Now that we have business cards, the inconvenience in public service will be resolved, and our sense of belonging will be greatly enhanced."

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "I hope that producing business cards for all employees will serve as an opportunity to instill a strong sense of responsibility and pride as public officials and encourage diligent work." He added, "Furthermore, all employees will unite to do their best in providing high-quality administrative services for the benefit of residents."
