Open for Submissions Until the 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Seoul City announced on the 5th that it is holding a naming contest for the new name of the ‘Disabled Dental Hospital,’ the second facility being established to expand public medical infrastructure as part of ‘Walking Together with the Vulnerable.’
The second Disabled Dental Hospital established by Seoul City is scheduled to open on the 5th floor of Eoullim Plaza in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu (former Korea Information Society Development Institute site) in August next year.
The Seoul Disabled Dental Hospital will be available to all persons with disabilities holding a ‘Disability Welfare Card,’ regardless of disability grade or age. An anesthesiology specialist will be stationed on-site to provide one-stop service from pre-examination to general anesthesia dental treatment, which is expected to greatly improve the convenience of dental care for people with disabilities.
The city is promoting a ‘naming contest’ to select a new name for the Disabled Dental Hospital being established this time. The contest period is two weeks from tomorrow until the 20th, and applications can be submitted by accessing the ‘QR code’ on the promotional poster or by clicking the ‘Naver Form link.’
The contest is open to people with disabilities who use the Disabled Dental Hospital, their families, and hospital staff.
The contest requires proposing a name within 1 to 10 characters to fill in the parentheses in ‘Seoul Special City (OOOOOOOOOO) Dental Hospital,’ and additionally providing the reason for the suggestion. The judging criteria will select names that well represent the Disabled Dental Hospital, resonate with citizens, are easy to understand, and reflect local characteristics.
A total of six names proposed by citizens will be selected through judging. Prizes include one grand prize winner (300,000 KRW), two excellence award winners (200,000 KRW each), and three encouragement award winners (100,000 KRW each), with a total of 1,000,000 KRW worth of cultural gift certificates to be awarded. The results will be posted on the Seoul City website on Monday, February 27, and winners will be notified individually.
Park Yumi, Director of the Seoul City Citizen Health Bureau, said, “We hope many citizens will participate in the naming contest for Seoul City’s second Disabled Dental Hospital.” She added, “Seoul City will continue to strengthen its support for the vulnerable by expanding robust public medical infrastructure so that all citizens can be healthy.”
