Daegu Transportation Corporation Achieves 'Excellent Integrity Grade' for 11 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-seon] Daegu Transportation Corporation achieved a comprehensive integrity rating of Grade 2 in the ‘2022 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation’ conducted on 569 institutions nationwide across 15 categories by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on the 3rd, and was the only public-related organization (195 institutions) to be selected as an excellent institution for 11 consecutive years.

Achieving an excellent grade for 11 consecutive years is a rare accomplishment attained by only five institutions including administrative agencies, and since there were no Grade 1 institutions in the category of local corporations and public enterprises to which Daegu Transportation Corporation belongs this year, achieving Grade 2 effectively means maintaining the highest level of integrity.

The comprehensive integrity rating was reorganized from 2022 into a new evaluation system that integrates the existing integrity measurement and anti-corruption policy evaluation. It comprehensively reflects evaluations of ‘integrity perception’ by public institutions, companies with work experience, and internal members, ‘integrity efforts’ assessing anti-corruption initiatives, and the status of corruption incidents.

Daegu Transportation Corporation established a foundation for implementing the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act last year by enacting internal regulations, expanded the number of integrity ombudsmen from one to two to enhance transparency, strengthened personnel penalties for offenders, prepared integrity practice guidelines for senior executives, and conducted internal corruption risk assessments. Thanks to these focused anti-corruption efforts by executives and employees, no corruption incidents occurred.

The establishment of the DTRO Integrity Band for sharing integrity information, operation of the integrity mileage system, and various activities such as joint public-private cooperation campaigns were highly evaluated for their efforts to spread a company-wide culture of integrity.

Kim Ki-hyuk, President of Daegu Transportation Corporation, said, “Our corporation’s selection as an excellent institution for integrity for 11 consecutive years is the result of efforts not only by all executives and employees but also by partner companies and citizens working together for a transparent society.” He added, “We will continue to discover new policies and strengthen existing projects to create a Daegu Transportation Corporation that citizens can empathize with and trust.”
