Renault Korea Announces Launch of 2-Seater LPG QM6 'QUEST'

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Renault Korea Motors announced that it will launch the two-seater model of the QM6 LPe with expanded cargo space, code-named 'QM6 QUEST,' on the 3rd.

The code name QM6 QUEST is based on Renault Korea's LPG sport utility vehicle (SUV) QM6 LPe. It is a new concept model that uses all interior space except for the front driver's seat and passenger seat as a cargo compartment.

The exterior features the same design as the QM6 model and is configured as a 5-door. The ride comfort is also identical to the existing QM6 LPe. It is expected to be a customized alternative for small business owners who found the size of traditional truck-type commercial vehicles burdensome.

Inside, a partition wall is installed between the driver and passenger seats and the cargo space to enable safe storage. The cargo space measures 1423?1760mm in length, 1261?1321mm in width, and 723?859mm in height, depending on the measurement location. The cargo capacity is 1413 liters, capable of storing 70 ramen boxes.

Additionally, the QM6 QUEST is classified as a small LPG cargo vehicle under relevant regulations. Thanks to this, it qualifies for subsidy support and various tax benefits.

First, up to 9 million KRW is supported upon purchase. According to the Ministry of Environment's LPG cargo vehicle new purchase support program, if an existing diesel vehicle is scrapped and the QM6 QUEST is purchased, a new car purchase subsidy of 1 million KRW is provided. If a diesel vehicle with emission grades 4?5 is scrapped early and the QM6 QUEST is purchased, an additional subsidy of up to 8 million KRW (based on grade 4) can be received.

There are also various tax benefits. Individual consumption tax and education tax are exempted, and lower tax rates for cargo vehicles apply during registration and annual automobile tax payments. If the QM6 QUEST is held for 5 years, tax benefits of approximately 5 million KRW compared to the regular model can be enjoyed.
