Gyeongnam Bank Teaches Practical Finance to Vulnerable Youth Groups

Operation of the "Round and Round Financial Class with Rich Uncle"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] BNK Gyeongnam Bank is jointly operating the ‘Round and Round Financial Classroom with Rich Uncle’ with the Gyeongsangnam-do Self-Reliance Support Agency.

The Round and Round Financial Classroom with Rich Uncle is a program designed for vulnerable youth groups such as young adults leaving child welfare facilities and students of special schools, helping them adapt smoothly to society by providing financial education and hands-on tasks to learn practical finance.

Team Leader Lee Young-dong, a financial education specialist at BNK Gyeongnam Bank, is running the "Round and Round Financial Classroom with Rich Uncle."

BNK Gyeongnam Bank plans to dispatch professional financial education instructors to create a comfortable atmosphere where self-reliant youth can hear stories about the history and philosophy of finance, as well as practical finance, from the Rich Uncle during the education sessions.

On the 2nd, the first session was held under the theme ‘The World Ruled by Money,’ where participants shared thoughts on the definition of finance and perspectives on viewing finance.

On the 9th, 16th, and 23rd, financial education will be conducted under the themes of ▲ finance for guarantees and protection ▲ finance for stable saving and management of money ▲ and stories of challenges to become wealthy, respectively.

BNK Gyeongnam Bank will provide individual financial counseling to self-reliant youth participating in this financial classroom to support their necessary financial independence, and will also give preferential selection when applying for the ‘BNK Gyeongnam Bank Customer Panel.’

Kim Yang-sook, Executive Director and Chief Consumer Officer (CCO) in charge of financial consumer protection, said, “For self-reliant youth to adapt and become independent in society, warm social interest and financial education are essential. BNK Gyeongnam Bank will strive to provide quality financial education not only to self-reliant youth but also to various vulnerable groups by cooperating with diverse local institutions.”

Earlier, BNK Gyeongnam Bank was selected as an ‘Education Donation Career Experience Certified Institution’ by the Ministry of Education in June last year.
