[Weather] Cold Until the Day After Tomorrow... Dry in Some Areas

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] On Friday the 3rd, the morning low temperature will be around minus 11 degrees Celsius, similarly cold as today. The daytime high temperature is expected to range from 1 to 9 degrees Celsius, which is similar to past levels, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration.

Strong winds will make it feel colder than the actual temperature. Morning temperatures will drop below minus 10 degrees Celsius, especially in northeastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and some inland areas of Gyeongbuk, where cold wave warnings have been issued. The cold is expected to continue the day after tomorrow.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that temperatures will rise starting from Ipchun (the beginning of spring) on the 4th, and by early next week, temperatures will exceed the average for this time of year.

On the 3rd, the sky will be mostly cloudy nationwide but will gradually clear from midday. The weekend is also expected to be clear across the country, making it possible to enjoy moon viewing on the 5th, the first full moon of the lunar new year.

The air will remain dry, especially along the East Coast and in the Yeongnam region. Currently, dry warnings are in effect for the lowlands of Donghae and Samcheok in Gangwon Province, and the air is very dry in Gangwon Yeongdong, eastern Jeonnam, and Yeongnam.
