The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 2nd that it will issue government bonds worth 13 trillion won this month through a competitive bidding process. Compared to last month's government bond issuance plan (10.5 trillion won), it has increased by 2.5 trillion won.

By maturity, it will issue 1.6 trillion won of 2-year bonds, 2.4 trillion won of 3-year bonds, 2.1 trillion won of 5-year bonds, 2.3 trillion won of 10-year bonds, 100 billion won of inflation-linked bonds, 1 trillion won of 20-year bonds, 3.1 trillion won of 30-year bonds, and 400 billion won of 50-year bonds. Professional dealers (PD) and the general public can acquire a certain amount at the highest winning bid rate of competitive bidding for each maturity through a non-competitive subscription method in addition to the competitive bidding method.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance will conduct an exchange worth 300 billion won between the elapsed issues of 10-year, 20-year, and 30-year bonds and the benchmark issue of 30-year bonds to increase the liquidity of government bonds. A ministry official said, "Whether to conduct non-competitive subscriptions and detailed plans will be separately announced on the 21st of this month."
