Boseong Dahyang Festival Selected as One of the 'Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events'

Seoul World Fireworks Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and 3 Other Sites Selected

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the Boseong Dahyang Festival has been selected as one of the ‘K-Culture Tourism Events 100’ promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The ‘K-Culture Tourism Events’ project supports foreign tourists to experience and enjoy various K-Culture elements such as culture, arts, content, sports, games, food, and architecture in celebration of the Year of Visit Korea.

Selected through recommendations from private experts in fields such as culture, arts, sports, tourism, and content, followed by a first screening for eligibility and a second final review committee, a total of five events were chosen in Jeollanam-do, including the Boseong Dahyang Festival and the Suncheonman International Garden Expo, alongside events like the Seoul World Fireworks Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and the League of Legends World Championship.

The Boseong Dahyang Festival, first held in 1975 and designated as a Culture and Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020, has established itself as a representative festival of the region with themes such as organic green tea, a specialty of Boseong, and wellness clean areas.

Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “The Boseong Dahyang Festival, returning after four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held from April 29 as an integrated festival-type expo together with the 11th Boseong World Tea Expo. We will create unique content that captivates both domestic and foreign tourists to further solidify Boseong’s position as the green tea capital of tourism.”
