Changwon National University Sweeps Awards at Southeast Region e-Mobility Festival

Among the 6 Awarded Teams, 1 Grand Prize Winner and 3 Excellence Award Winners

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon National University announced on the 2nd that the 2023 Southeast Region E-Mobility Festival Final Competition was held.


According to the university, the competition was hosted by the Ulsan·Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform Smart Manufacturing Engineering Project Group and operated by RH Tech.


Related organizations and company officials from the region, including Changwon Industry Promotion Agency and Gyeongnam Changwon Industry-Academia Convergence Center, attended the final competition event.


12 teams composed of students from Gyeongnam National University, Ulsan University, Youngsan University, Changwon National University, and Changshin University advanced to the finals.


They purchased and manufactured products themselves or had products made through outsourcing companies after going through 8 months of preliminary and main rounds.

The 12 teams showcased ▲coffee delivery drones ▲electric kickboards with variable auxiliary wheels ▲portable shopping carts ▲electric kickboard safety devices ▲shopping carts with detachable wheels ▲batteries used in electric racing cars.


▲electric kickboards that combine magnetorheological fluid and regenerative braking to improve battery efficiency ▲disinfection robots ▲systems prohibiting passengers on kickboards ▲e-mobility electric shopping carts ▲visible safety helmets ▲and fishing lures made using recycled batteries.


On the day, six teams were honored with awards, and the grand prize went to the Mentos team from Gyeongnam National University.


The I-Contact team from Changwon National University and the Kim-I-Pak-Il team from Youngsan University both won the Excellence Award, while SKID_Electric, E-move, and Silicon Valley in Changwon teams all took the Merit Award.


Park Kyung-rok, CEO of RH Tech, said, “We plan to continuously support follow-up processes such as product advancement and market development even after the competition,” adding, “We will continue to strive to discover excellent startup teams and talents.”


Lee Jae-seon, head of the Changwon National University project group, said, “Everyone worked hard and achieved satisfactory results,” and added, “We will make this competition contribute to the industrial development and job creation in the Southeast region in the future.”
