Ulsan Jungbu Library Holds Closing Ceremony for Literacy Education Geulsarang School

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Jungbu Library held a closing ceremony on the 2nd for 18 learners of the Literacy Education School recognizing elementary school academic ability, concluding the 2nd stage course.


The learners of the 2nd stage course, with an average age of 72, enrolled in 2021 and completed 480 hours of study covering stages 1 and 2.


At the closing ceremony, participants encouraged the academic achievements and enthusiasm of the students, and the students expressed their determination to take on the 3rd stage course starting in March.


The 2nd stage course consisted of subjects such as Korean, mathematics, and English, as well as various creative experiential activities including field trips, poetry and painting exhibitions, and Korean writing contests.

One learner who attended the closing ceremony said, “It feels like just yesterday when I blushed and left the bank because I couldn’t write the two letters ‘haeji’ (해지), but these days I am learning Korean at the library and living a new life,” adding, “I will also work hard in the 3rd stage course.”


The Literacy Education School recognizing elementary school academic ability at Jungbu Library will open the 3rd stage course, the final stage of the entire program, on March 2nd.
