[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it has been promoting the 'Free Rental of Lightning-Struck Suits' project for job seekers for the fifth year this year.
The free rental of lightning-struck suits has seen a steady increase in users every year despite the difficult employment conditions due to COVID-19, reaching about 1,700 users last year. This is a 35% increase compared to the previous year.
Among the approximately 1,700 users of this service, 595 succeeded in finding employment, achieving the highest employment rate since the project started, and user satisfaction was also surveyed to be as high as 99%.
Encouraged by the positive response from users, the city added a second rental location for interview suits in June last year and is currently operating it. The rental eligibility has also been expanded from job seekers aged 18 to 39 residing in Bucheon to all citizens preparing for employment.
Any job seeker in Bucheon City can rent an interview suit set, including shoes, necktie, and accessories, free of charge for 3 nights and 4 days.
Meanwhile, the second free interview suit rental location has changed its name from 'Bucheon Job Cafe' to 'Bucheon Youth Leader #' and provides one-stop employment support services to young job seekers through AI (Artificial Intelligence) and VR (Virtual Reality) interview experiences, one-on-one customized consulting, and video interview room connections.
The first location, 'Jeongjang Enok,' operates at 205 Yangji-ro, Bucheon City, and the second location, 'Bucheon Youth Leader#,' operates on the first floor of Exit 2 of Songnae Station.
Mayor Jo Yong-ik of Bucheon City said, “The free rental of interview suits reduces the economic burden on job seekers and greatly increases the employment success rate, producing a twofold effect. We will carry out customized support programs for job seekers such as interview techniques for employment success, resume and self-introduction writing, accompanied interviews, and job fairs.”
