Jinju Sugok Nonghyup, No.1 Nationwide in Strawberry Exports as a Single Item

Honored with the $14 Million Export Tower Award

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoonjung Cho] Jinju Sugok Nonghyup in Gyeongnam was honored with the $14 million Export Tower award.

On the 2nd, the Gyeongnam Nonghyup awarded the $14 million Export Tower to Jinju Sugok Nonghyup at the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the Nonghyup Gyeongnam Headquarters.

About 100 people attended the award ceremony, including Head Kim Juyang, Chairman Moon Byungho, and regional headquarters staff.

The Export Tower is an award given to Nonghyup organizations that renew their export performance in units of $1 million. In 2022, the nationwide award-winning Nonghyup organizations were Jinju Sugok Nonghyup, which achieved $14 million, and Hwanggan Nonghyup, which achieved $1 million.

Sugok Nonghyup renewed its performance in 2022 following the achievement of $13 million in 2021, ranking first among nationwide export Nonghyup organizations.

Chairman Moon said, “While continuing the reputation of Sugok strawberries through high-quality strawberry production, we will strive harder to expand exports to support domestic prices and increase farm income.”

Head Kim said, “Despite difficult export conditions such as logistics difficulties, exchange rate fluctuations, and economic recession, I thank the chairman for his efforts to expand strawberry exports, and we will do our best to support export Nonghyup organizations this year.”

Gyeongnam Nonghyup, despite the difficult conditions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic last year, made efforts to expand exports of paprika, strawberries, sweet persimmons, chestnuts, and flowers, exporting $104 million and achieving first place nationwide in fresh agricultural product exports for 25 consecutive years.
