On the 2nd, the Guro Police Station in Seoul booked a woman in her 30s, Ms. A, on charges including violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes and is currently investigating her.
Ms. A is accused of going to the parking lot of a house in Cheonwang-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, where the victim, Mr. B, resides, around 11 p.m. on the 29th of last month, and assaulting Mr. B multiple times inside his car.
The police reported that they received a report stating, "A woman who had been stalking for a year came to the house," and upon arriving at the scene, they first separated Ms. A and Mr. B and assessed the damage.
After confirming records on Mr. B’s cellphone showing hundreds of calls and over 500 text messages received, the police recognized the criminal charges and arrested Ms. A on the spot as a suspect caught in the act.
They also implemented emergency measures No. 1 (a written warning to stop stalking crimes) and No. 2 (prohibition of approaching within 100 meters of the victim, etc.).
However, during the investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. B also assaulted Ms. A at the time of the incident, and the police have booked Mr. B on assault charges and are investigating him as well.
