Haenam-gun Invests 33.2 Billion KRW in Population Policy Projects

Population Recovers to 70,000... 128 Projects to Be Implemented This Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, has established a comprehensive population policy plan and will invest a budget of 33.194 billion KRW in a total of 128 detailed projects, including youth policies for childbirth and childcare, housing stability, job creation, and the formation of a healthy population structure.

According to the county on the 2nd, based on the mid- to long-term vision of "A New Local Era Starting from the Land's End," they will promote population policy projects covering all aspects of life, such as forming a healthy population structure through the influx and settlement of the younger generation, creating an environment where children and parents are happy, sustainable customized job creation, and discovering population increase policies through public-private cooperation.

First, to attract and settle the younger generation, they will focus on promoting marriage encouragement support projects, housing loan interest support and rental housing repair cost support projects, the Youth Hope Stepping Stone Savings Account project for asset formation, youth culture welfare card projects, and settlement support projects for young farmers and fishermen.

In addition, various youth-tailored job projects to provide stable employment will continue to be prepared.

To create a favorable environment for childbirth and parenting, support will be provided for prenatal health checkup costs, housekeeping care services, postpartum care services visiting childbirth families, newborn care expenses and first meeting vouchers, and discounts on public postpartum care center fees.

For the first time last year, a paternity leave encouragement grant was introduced, providing 500,000 KRW per month for up to three months, totaling 1.5 million KRW.

In particular, the Haenam-gun Family Harmony Center will open in March. The center will house the Haenam-gun Family Center, a shared childcare sharing space, the public Haenam Daycare Center, the Together Care Center, a toy library, and an indoor playground?all family harmony spaces gathered in one place.

They plan to operate it as a family happiness space accessible to all residents by providing customized welfare services and new programs such as neighborhood kitchens.

Additionally, various policies will be promoted to encourage all residents to participate in solving population issues, including a campaign for institutions to have their workplace addresses and support for relocation encouragement contributions accordingly.
