[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Sungkwang Medical Foundation's Cha Hospital and Cha Biotech announced on the 2nd that they were selected as top-grade excellent institutions in the '2022 ICT-based Foreign Patient Pre-consultation and Post-management Pilot Operation Project.' Accordingly, they will be able to continue the pilot project this year as well.

Selected as participants in the pilot operation project by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute in April last year, Cha Hospital and Cha Biotech established a pre-consultation and post-management platform for Mongolian infertility and female cancer patients centered around Ilsan Cha Hospital. They also signed remote cooperative consultation agreements with multiple local hospitals, including Intermed.

In the project satisfaction survey, Cha Hospital's medical service scored 4.2 out of 5 points, and platform technology satisfaction reached 4.3 points, meeting the convenience needs of foreign patients. Additionally, they were able to identify demand for major female diseases in Mongolia such as infertility, cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, and thyroid nodules.

Mongolia is a country with many people visiting Korea for infertility procedures and treatment of female diseases due to the absence of infertility and female specialty hospitals. Through this project, Cha Hospital can assist overseas infertility patients throughout the entire process from successful pregnancy to safe childbirth and provide health management solutions covering the entire female life cycle for female diseases including female cancers.

Cha Hospital plans to expand this project from Ilsan Cha Hospital to all 15 domestic institutions including Bundang and Gangnam Cha Hospitals. They also intend to broaden the scope to overall health management including obstetrics, wellness, and severe diseases, and increase target countries by utilizing medical hub centers of 86 Cha Hospitals in 7 countries such as the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Japan.
