[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company is establishing a permanent base in the Kansai region of Japan where customers can experience Hyundai’s eco-friendly vehicles.
Hyundai Motor Japan announced on the 2nd that it will open the "Hyundai Mobility Lounge Kyoto Shijo" in Kyoto, Japan, on the 4th. The Hyundai Mobility Lounge is an experiential space for Hyundai vehicles located in various unique locations across Japan. It is a specialized base that increases contact points with Japanese consumers while proposing diverse eco-friendly car lifestyles.
Local consumers can experience a range of vehicles at the Hyundai Mobility Lounge Kyoto Shijo, including test drives of the electric Ioniq 5 and the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle Nexo. In addition, they can receive purchase consultations and after-sales services.
The Hyundai Mobility Lounge Kyoto Shijo is located inside "A Pit Autobacs Kyoto Shijo," a complex shopping space that handles automotive-related products as well as clothing and miscellaneous goods related to car life. This shopping space is the flagship store of Autobacs Seven Group, a Japanese company specializing in automotive products and services.
Starting with the opening of this permanent base, Hyundai Motor plans to strengthen its collaboration with Autobacs. Hyundai Autobacs is Hyundai’s partner maintenance workshop in Japan. They plan to explore various collaborations, including partnerships utilizing Autobacs’ maintenance bases.
Hyundai has been establishing experiential bases in major regions of Japan. In June last year, Hyundai opened the "Hyundai Mobility Marunouchi" at the Ascot Marunouchi Tokyo Hotel located in Marunouchi, Tokyo, the economic and financial center of Japan. In October last year, they opened urban showrooms called "Hyundai City Store" in Nagoya and Fukuoka, and in July last year, they inaugurated the Hyundai Customer Experience Center in Yokohama, the first directly operated offline customer center and base in Japan.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "The Hyundai Mobility Lounge Kyoto Shijo is the first permanent base in Kansai, allowing local Japanese customers to more easily experience Hyundai’s zero-emission eco-friendly vehicles," adding, "Purchasing customers can also comfortably receive maintenance and other services."
