According to the Mapo Police Station on the 2nd, at around 4:12 PM the previous day, a Genesis vehicle passing through a side street in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, crashed into a car repair shop on the first floor of a nearby building. As a result of the accident, a woman in her 60s driving the vehicle and a woman in her 80s who was walking were transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away.

A police official stated, “We are investigating the circumstances of the accident while keeping open the possibility of sudden unintended acceleration of the vehicle.”
