[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will form a university council involving five local universities in April.


On the 1st, Suwon City held the '2023 University Staff Meeting' at the Youth Support Center and announced on the 2nd that it plans to establish a 'University Council' (tentative name) in April, consisting of five local universities: Gyeonggi University, Dongnam Health University, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon Women's University, and Ajou University.


The University Council will collect students' opinions from each university and play a role in discovering and monitoring youth policies.


Additionally, the city plans to expand and reorganize the Suwon Youth and Young Adult Foundation and will hold a discussion forum on the expansion and reorganization of the Youth and Young Adult Foundation on the 21st.


During the meeting, the city introduced Suwon's youth spaces, including the Youth Support Center (Ingye-dong), Cheonnuri (Paldal-ro 3-ga), and 58 cultural city companion spaces located in five living zones (Suwon Hwaseong, West Suwon, North Suwon, Yeongtong, Gwanggyo).


A city official stated, "We will closely cooperate with universities to promote youth policies and projects," adding, "We will continuously gather opinions from universities and students and reflect them in policies."
