Yongin City will begin maintenance of address information facilities, such as building number plates, until October.
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive survey of address information facilities within the jurisdiction, including road name signs and building number plates.
This preliminary survey aims to maintain and manage facilities so that citizens can conveniently use road name addresses and to prevent safety accidents caused by falling facilities.
The survey targets a total of 70,558 facilities, including 8,985 road name signs, 57,439 building number plates, and 4,134 basic number plates.
Yongin City will conduct an intensive investigation by October on these facilities to check for loss or damage, appropriateness of markings, suitability of facility locations, visibility status, and data consistency.
In particular, by utilizing mobile National Address Information System (KAIS) terminals, real-time image capture and information input will enable the current status of facilities to be transmitted directly from the field, enhancing the efficiency of the survey.
Based on the survey results, the city will repair or replace facilities that require maintenance and newly install facilities where necessary.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to maintain and repair facilities so that citizens can use road name addresses without inconvenience and to prevent safety accidents caused by address information facilities."
