Dream Start Operations Committee Confirms 35 Projects in 4 Areas
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that Dream Start held an ‘Operation Committee’ and will actively promote projects for children from vulnerable groups.
At the ‘Dream Start Operation Committee’ held on the 31st at the Yeosu City Hall Situation Room, the 2022 project performance was reported and opinions were gathered on the 2023 project promotion plan.
‘Dream Start’ targets children under 12 years old from vulnerable groups and their families, discovering various local resources to promote integrated case management and child welfare services. The ‘Dream Start Operation Committee’ advises on project support directions and project planning.
This year, the committee adopted new projects including ▲vaccination support ▲first aid education ▲prenatal and postnatal care ▲development support projects ▲visiting counseling support ▲comprehensive psychological testing, and decided to support 35 customized services across 4 fields.
Additionally, reflecting opinions from satisfaction surveys, the number of psychological counseling support sessions will be extended from 30 to 35, and visiting home counseling will be promoted for families who find it difficult to visit institutions due to circumstances.
A Yeosu City official said, “We will strengthen promotion of the Dream Start project and actively discover families in welfare blind spots through cooperation with related organizations.”
