Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 1st that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Logis Hospitality Holdings (Logis) to secure overseas hotel and resort chains.

Logis oversees 11 hotels and resorts well known for their wellness concepts in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and other countries. They operate a total of 4,126 rooms in Southeast Asia, including Maia Resort in Vietnam and Glow Hotel & Resort in Thailand. The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is a 5-star hotel famous as the venue for the North Korea?United States summit between former U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un.
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts and Logis will jointly discuss the development, investment, and entrusted operation of hotels and integrated resorts within the Asian region in the future. Depending on the outcome of the discussions, Hanwha Resort members are expected to receive various benefits such as discounted rates when using Logis hotels and resorts. Additionally, Logis plans to increase the number of rooms it operates to 10,300 by 2025.
Kim Hyung-jo, CEO of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, said, "With the recent surge in overseas travel, we are expanding our overseas chain network as a means to enhance the value for Hanwha Resort members," adding, "We are also continuously expanding our hotel chain focused on suite rooms domestically to provide customers with the highest level of satisfaction."
Kim also hinted at future moves, stating, "The partnership with Logis, established by global private equity firm Warburg Pincus and Vietnam's largest asset management company VinaCapital, will not end as a simple alliance agreement."
