Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 1st that it will launch a mukbang entertainment content titled "Matnamyeon Meogeuri," featuring comedian Kim Min-kyung.
On the 31st of last month, Lotte Homeshopping signed a business agreement with food specialist company Allbox to revitalize the content commerce business. The two companies will mutually cooperate on ▲joint planning of entertainment content using popular celebrities ▲joint investment in newly developed food products ▲TV home shopping entry of products introduced in entertainment shows ▲production of food content linked with Lotte Homeshopping’s own IP.
"Matnamyeon Meogeuri" features Kim Min-kyung inviting a new guest each episode to showcase mukbang. In the first episode, comedian Park So-young joins Kim Min-kyung to visit a favorite tteokbokki restaurant in Daegu, Kim’s hometown. In the future, famous creator Lalla will join as MC to present various content such as mukbang, talk, and entertainment, and the broadcasted food will be commercialized and sold through Lotte Homeshopping.
The show will be released through the Naenae Studio on Lotte Homeshopping’s new YouTube channel. Through this new channel, they plan to diversify entertainment content including web entertainment, shorts, and live streaming, as well as introduce a singing entertainment show with a visible radio concept featuring popular idols.
A Lotte Homeshopping official stated, “We plan to present various unique contents reflecting trends and expand commerce linkage through Lotte Homeshopping channels such as TV and mobile.”
