Wine specialist importer Kumyang International announced the launch of the premium bourbon whiskey "Old Virginia (OLD VIRGINIA)" produced by France's La Martiniquaise.
France's La Martiniquaise (LA MARTINIQAISE) has over 30 subsidiaries and production facilities worldwide, based in Europe. It is one of the world's top 10 wine and spirits groups, with a diverse portfolio including wine, rum, gin, vodka, and more.
Produced in Kentucky, USA, the birthplace of bourbon whiskey, "Old Virginia" consists of three varieties. "Old Virginia 6-Year-Old" is slowly aged for over six years in white new oak barrels, characterized by its natural woody vanilla notes and a long, smooth finish. It is also available as "Old Virginia Original," aged for two years with traditional bourbon whiskey characteristics, and "Old Virginia Smooth Honey," carefully crafted by blending European honey with Old Virginia whiskey.
Since its package renewal in 2018, "Old Virginia" has actively targeted bourbon enthusiasts. Starting with the Drinks International Travel Retail Awards Gold Medal, "Old Virginia 6-Year-Old" has won five IWSC awards, two Gold Medals at the America Whiskies Master, and has received medals for six consecutive years at international spirits competitions. "Old Virginia Smooth Honey" won the Bronze Medal at the 2020 World Whisky Awards and has been recognized for its quality with awards at international spirits competitions for four consecutive years.
An official stated, "All three Old Virginia varieties will be sold nationwide at convenience stores for high consumer accessibility, and package products including highball glasses will be available at some discount stores and department stores."
