Jo Kyung-tae: "A Party Leader Dependent on Yoon's Favor is a Mama's Boy"

Criticism of Yunsim Marketing in SBS Radio Interview
"A Principled and Conscientious Person Should Be the Representative"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 31st, Rep. Cho Kyung-tae of the People Power Party likened the ruling party's presidential primary candidates' competition to gain so-called 'Yunsim (President Yoon Seok-yeol's favor)' to being a mama's boy in an interview with SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show.'

Rep. Cho questioned, "If the party leader relies on Yunsim, I don't know about that. I don't know how the listeners will take this, but how is that any different from being a mama's boy in the past?"

Regarding the ruling party's leadership candidates Rep. Kim Ki-hyun and Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo competing to gain Yunsim, Rep. Cho pointed out, "If we do politics just to be in someone's good graces, then that person shouldn't be in politics. Politicians should have their own convictions, shouldn't they?"

Rep. Cho said, "As I have repeatedly said, when the government is lacking or going astray, it is our role to correct and supplement it. Therefore, isn't it right that the party leader this time should be someone who is upright, confident, has convictions, has a vision for the future, and can also present alternatives?"

Regarding some ruling party members supporting Rep. Kim Ki-hyun, Rep. Cho said, "The most important key points President Yoon talks about are fairness and common sense. I see it as wrong when there are actions that are neither fair nor sensible."

Rep. Cho added, "I understand that the Election Commission has probably sent a strict official letter. So I think such incidents will not occur in the future. Because the presidential primary should be a festival for harmony and unity, excessive overheating is undesirable."
