[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The Korea Health Industry Development Institute announced on the 31st that it is recruiting exhibition participants for the specialized international health industry convention "BIO KOREA 2023," co-hosted with Chungcheongbuk-do.

Held over three days from May 10 to 12 at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, BIO KOREA 2023 will provide a platform for technology exchange to support outstanding companies' entry into the global market by hosting exhibitions of companies in the health industry sectors such as pharmaceuticals, bio, and medical devices, as well as detailed programs including conferences, business partnering, and invest fairs on-site.

Applications for general exhibition booths will be accepted until April 8. Early registration will be conducted until the 11th of next month, and additional discounts will be offered to companies that participated in last year's BIO KOREA event.

Celebrating its 18th edition this year, BIO KOREA 2023 is evaluated to have promoted the excellence of Korea's health industry to the world over the past 17 years, supported domestic companies' entry into the global market, and provided an opportunity for Korea to leap forward as a powerhouse in the biohealth industry.

Last year, with the decline of COVID-19, the event was held fully offline, featuring experiential exhibition halls such as a metaverse promotional pavilion, while enabling continuous technology and business exchanges among exhibiting companies. This year, a separate section will be organized and operated to introduce companies possessing convergence technologies such as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO), Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and digital healthcare.

An official from the institute stated, “We hope BIO KOREA 2023 will help Korean companies, which have established themselves as a biohealth powerhouse, in marketing their technologies and products as well as in pioneering new markets. Through the expanded national pavilion section this time, we will create opportunities for exchanges with leading global companies and support domestic companies' business activities to enhance their international competitiveness, and we will do our utmost to achieve this.”
