Messy with Alcohol Bottles and Cigarette Butts... No Compensation
"Are Minors Also Allowed?"... False Threats Too
A group of university students turned a party room into a garbage dump and left, sparking controversy after the story was posted on an online community. The owner demanded compensation for damaged items, but the students reportedly threatened the owner by claiming they were "minors."
Recently, a post titled "They made the party room a complete mess and left" was uploaded on the Naver cafe 'Because It Hurts, I'm the Boss.' The post included photos showing empty alcohol bottles and food waste carelessly piled on the table. Leftover meat and a grill plate remained on the dining table, and several cigarette butts were discarded in the sink drain.

There were traces of a cake spilled on the artificial turf, and the installed large tree was broken. Mr. A, who operates a party room in Daejeon, said, "I was shocked when I received photos of the party room from the cleaning manager." He added, "On the morning of Lunar New Year's Day, a customer contacted me asking, 'If we don't clean, do we not get the 50,000 won deposit back?'" He said he had clearly stated, "Please leave the room in the same condition as when you entered."
Mr. A said, "I added a clause stating that if no cleaning is done at all, the entire deposit would be deducted, but they made a complete mess and left." The owner, feeling extremely upset and offended, requested a total of 500,000 won to cover 300,000 won for cleaning, compensation for damaged items, and cigarette odor removal. However, the customers reportedly made threatening remarks, asking, "Are minors even allowed to enter?"
However, it was revealed that they were university students. Mr. A ultimately settled for 250,000 won, but the group of students disappeared without paying the cleaning fee. Mr. A said, "I am considering legal action," and added, "I try to respond as kindly as possible, but when I encounter people like this, I develop hostility toward customers."
