Boseong-gun Launches Efforts to Secure National Funding for New Projects in 2024

Secures 631.2 Billion Won in National Budget for Next Year with Full Effort

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 27th, it held the '2024 National Budget Securing New Project Discovery Report Meeting' and has begun full-scale efforts to secure government funding.

The meeting was chaired by Kim Cheol-woo, the head of Boseong-gun, with all department heads attending to select 69 projects that will lead the foundation for Boseong-gun's future growth engines. Boseong-gun plans to focus its administrative power to secure a total budget of 631.2 billion KRW for 2024.

Major projects include ▲ Honam Jeongmaeksan Azalea Recreation Belt Development Project ▲ Regional Specialized Rental Smart Farm Development Project ▲ Boseong Organic Waste Integrated Biogas Facility Installation Project ▲ Boseong Bibong Marine Leisure Complex Development Project ▲ Juwolsan Arboretum Development Project ▲ Beolgyo Healing Income Forest Development Project, △ Ungchi-myeon Illimsan Natural Ecological Forest Trail Development Project ▲ Bongnim Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Project ▲ Boseong-gun Aging Local Water Supply Maintenance Project (Phase 2), totaling 69 projects.

Boseong-gun plans to secure national funds in line with the policy direction of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the government budget schedule to ensure that the requested project budgets are reflected in the national budget.

Additionally, to emphasize the necessity of Boseong-gun’s priority projects, it will form a preliminary consensus with central government ministries and establish a cooperative system with Jeollanam-do. For key projects, the deputy governor will lead, and department heads will conduct ongoing budget activities as needed.

Kim Cheol-woo, head of Boseong-gun, stated, “Securing national and provincial funds is essential for the stable promotion of the key projects of the 8th elected administration. We will thoroughly prepare to secure national funds through project planning and concretization that align with national policy directions for uninterrupted development of Boseong.” He urged all staff to do their best in securing national funds.

Meanwhile, the budget department included the necessary budget for prior administrative procedures in the 1st supplementary budget and requested it in the national financial plan when applying for projects, ensuring it is reflected in Jeollanam-do’s new project list. They also prepared explanatory materials on project diversity to respond to central ministries’ inquiries and plan to hold interim report meetings as needed for issue-specific progress checks.
