According to the county on the 30th, it will expand elderly welfare policies this year to ensure that senior citizens can lead healthy and happy lives in their later years.
To this end, new projects this year include the AI companion robot project for elderly living alone and support for installing CCTV in elderly care facilities to prevent elder abuse.
With the basic pension increased by 5.1% compared to the previous year starting this year, single elderly households will receive up to 323,180 KRW, and couples up to 517,080 KRW.
Support for senior centers will also be expanded.
The heads of senior centers will be appointed as local volunteer guides and provided with activity expenses, while various programs to revitalize senior centers will be operated.
The target for customized care services for vulnerable elderly will be expanded, and a monthly transportation allowance of 100,000 KRW will be provided to improve the treatment of care personnel.
An emergency safety service will be operated to support the installation of emergency equipment in homes of elderly living alone with severe disabilities.
To support stable social activities for the elderly, 1,670 elderly jobs will be provided, an increase of 11.3% compared to the previous year.
The number of senior meal centers will be expanded from 7 to 9, and for elderly who cannot use the centers due to infectious diseases, lunchboxes will be delivered to help with nutrition intake.
To improve funeral culture, the cost for cremation will be supported at 200,000 KRW, an increase of 100,000 KRW compared to the previous year.
A county official said, “We will discover and promote more diverse elderly welfare policies so that senior citizens can lead healthy and vibrant lives in their later years.”
