High Evaluation for Anti-Corruption and Integrity Education, Integrity Practice Resolution Rally, and Operation of Integrity Mileage System
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun has recorded a second grade for four consecutive years in the comprehensive integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
On the 30th, Damyang-gun, Jeonnam, announced that it achieved a second grade in the 2022 public institution comprehensive integrity evaluation announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The public institution comprehensive integrity evaluation is a system implemented by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to assess the overall integrity level of institutions at various levels, promote anti-corruption efforts such as improving corruption-prone areas, and spread awareness and culture of integrity.
The evaluation measures 'perceived integrity' through surveys on corruption perception and experience during work processes targeting civil petitioners and internal employees, evaluates 'integrity efforts' by assessing the results of anti-corruption efforts by each institution, and calculates the overall score by considering the occurrence status of corruption incidents.
The county carried out multifaceted efforts including ▲sending integrity letters ▲holding integrity practice resolution meetings ▲operating integrity discussions ▲promoting customized anti-corruption and integrity education ▲operating the Cheongbaek-e real-time monitoring and self-diagnosis system ▲and running the integrity mileage system.
As a result, it scored 6 points higher than the average score of 82 county-level basic local governments nationwide, maintaining a top-tier ranking for four consecutive years.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “Integrity is the most important value that the public service should pursue,” and added, “We will carefully analyze and supplement the results of this evaluation and do our best to make a leap forward in the next evaluation.”
