[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province is accepting nominations for the 18th Uiryeong-gun Citizen Award until the 28th of next month.
The Uiryeong-gun Citizen Award is given every three years to citizens who have greatly contributed to enhancing the honor of the county and regional development.
The selection is made in four categories: ▲filial piety ▲industrial economy ▲social service ▲culture, arts, or sports, with one recipient (or one business entity) selected in each category.
Those wishing to recommend candidates should submit a recommendation letter, a record of achievements, a resume, and supporting documents through the head of the town or township office with jurisdiction over the candidate's address (location).
The county plans to conduct a strict review to ensure that the Uiryeong-gun Citizen Award, which is the highest honor and a model for all citizens, is awarded to a deserving recipient. Even if a candidate is nominated, no award will be given if no suitable candidate is found.

The Uiryeong-gun Citizen Award was first implemented in 1993 and has so far honored a total of 43 recipients: 9 in filial piety, 13 in industrial economy, 14 in social service, and 7 in culture, arts (sports).
