Daejeon City Expands Youth Monthly Rent Support Program from 1,200 to 3,000 Beneficiaries

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is expanding the support scale of the Youth Monthly Rent Support Project from 1,200 to 3,000 people.


The city announced on the 30th that it recently finalized and decided to promote the "2023 Youth Policy Implementation Plan," which includes this content, through the deliberation of the Daejeon Youth Policy Coordination Committee.


The Youth Policy Implementation Plan includes measures to expand the number of applicants for the Youth Monthly Rent Support Project, introduced last year, and to extend the support period from 10 months to 12 months.


Additionally, the plan includes newly providing 50,000 KRW as transportation expenses to participants in the Youth Intern Support Project, changing the name of the Youth Hope Account to the Future Double Youth Account, and improving the savings amount to allow selection between 100,000 KRW and 150,000 KRW per month instead of a fixed 150,000 KRW per month.


Starting this year, the savings period for the Future Double Youth Account will also change from a fixed 3 years to a selectable 2 to 3 years.


Meanwhile, according to the Youth Policy Implementation Plan, this year the city will promote 70 projects in five areas aiming at youth marriage, childbirth, and stable social settlement: ▲Jobs (31 projects) ▲Housing (6 projects) ▲Education (6 projects) ▲Welfare & Culture (15 projects) ▲Participation & Rights (12 projects).


A total budget of 144 billion KRW will be invested in these projects.
