The Gochang-gun Youth Policy Council is an official channel to reflect the voices of local youth in policy development and communication regarding overall youth policies.
Last month, the county formed the council with 30 youths aged between 18 and 45, including office workers, self-employed individuals, and university students, through an open recruitment.
The youth committee members will be responsible for generating ideas for youth in various fields such as employment, economy, education, culture, welfare, and housing over the next two years.
The county plans to actively support the council so that it can proactively discover and propose youth policy agendas, conduct monitoring, and carry out promotional activities.
Furthermore, the proposed policies will be implemented following the Gochang-gun Youth Basic Ordinance, undergoing review by each department, establishment of implementation plans, and securing budgets.
County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “We will listen to the diverse opinions of the youth who will lead Gochang’s future,” and added, “Youth participation is very important from planning to execution of youth policies.”
He continued, “We will generously support the council so that youth can solve their own problems.”
