Since opening its first store in Changdong in 1993, Emart, which turns 30 this year, will hold various year-round events starting next month to thank customers for their support.

On the 30th, Emart announced, "The 30th anniversary campaign, which will continue throughout 2023, includes large prize giveaways, cultural events for children as future customers, unique limited-edition products, and pop-up store operations," adding, "We have also prepared nostalgic emotional events that evoke the feelings customers had when they visited Emart in the past."

From February 3 to 28, a large prize event will be held. To commemorate the founding year 1993, prizes will be given to 1,993 people. Among the customers who enter, a grand prize winner (1 person) will receive an electric car (Hyundai Ioniq 6). The second prize (2 people) is 5 don of gold bars, and the third prize (3 people) is a Dyson air purifier. Emart has also prepared other prizes such as accommodation vouchers for Chosun Palace, Dyson Airwraps, and Starbucks gift cards.

Participation in the event can be done through the Emart application (app). Customers who visit an Emart store at least once during the event period, purchase over 10,000 KRW, and accumulate Shinsegae points can enter through the app. Each customer can enter only once. The lottery results will be announced on March 16.

The "Listen to My e-Story" event, which collects various stories related to Emart customers and awards prizes to participants, will also be held from February 6 to 24. Customers who wish to participate can enter by commenting on Emart’s official Instagram account. Three stories selected as finalists will each receive Emarticons worth 300,000 KRW to use at Emart stores. Additionally, 300 participants will be randomly selected to receive Emarticons worth 3,000 KRW.

There will also be an event where customers can receive gifts by posting photos certifying various posts announcing Emart’s 30th anniversary. Large banners and promotional videos celebrating the 30th anniversary can be seen inside and outside Emart stores and in busy shopping districts. The 30th anniversary prize events will continue until the end of the year.

Emotional events that evoke memories of Emart will also be held. A representative example is replaying the "Emart Song." The Emart Song, which could be heard in Emart stores from 2000 to 2007, is a catchy tune with a cheerful melody and the repetitive phrase "haepi (happy) haepi haepi."

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Emart will broadcast the Emart Song in stores starting February 3. In addition to the original track, a collaborative version featuring famous artists is also being prepared. The 30th anniversary campaign video will be available from the 3rd in stores, online, and outdoor spaces. Emart stated, "Our vision for the future is a fun place enjoyed by all generations, from children to people in their 20s, middle-aged, and elderly."

Emart is especially preparing programs for children, its future customers, to experience the joy of shopping and learn economic concepts through shopping experiences. Various outdoor cultural events are also planned.

Choi Hoonhak, Emart’s marketing manager, said, "To repay 30 years of customer love, we will express our gratitude nonstop throughout the year," adding, "We will also more firmly than ever fulfill the essence of our business, which is to reduce customers’ living expenses with good quality and low prices."
