Ahn Cheol-soo: "Lee Jae-myung, Judicial Noncompliance... Must Judge Ruling Party with 170 Seats in General Election"

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Ahn Cheol-soo, a presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated on the 29th, "We must secure a landslide victory with more than 170 seats in the general election to ensure acceptance of the presidential election results and judicial rulings."

On the same day, through social media (SNS), Ahn criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who accused the 'Wirye New Town and Daejang-dong development project preferential treatment case' of being a prosecutorial fabrication, saying, "He is going beyond rejecting the presidential election results and is effectively rejecting judicial rulings."

He pointed out, "Just as former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook and former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo did not acknowledge the Supreme Court's final confirmation of their guilt, Lee is also attributing his criminal charges to prosecutorial fabrication," adding, "This time, he has gone further?not only is he not ashamed of his crimes, but he even boasts about them. He is misleading the public as if he were a democratization activist fighting against prosecutorial dictatorship, similar to the pro-democracy movements against military dictatorship."

He said, "The public is angry at Lee Jae-myung's attitude of trying to block corruption crimes with the power of the Democratic Party and its supporters," and added, "The People Power Party must trust the power of the people."

He argued, "All forces that opposed the Moon Jae-in administration and Lee Jae-myung in the last presidential election must unite again," and emphasized, "Especially in the general election, we must be able to gather the public sentiment of the Seoul metropolitan area, the most critical battleground, to our party."
