[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Industry) announced on the 29th that it will integrate and open a public contest for the Smart Green Industrial Complex Promotion Project aimed at the digital and low-carbon transition of industrial complexes, the backbone of domestic manufacturing, on the 30th.
The Ministry of Industry has designated 15 industrial complexes as Smart Green Industrial Complexes as of 2023 to promote digital and low-carbon transitions, and is currently supporting the Smart Green Industrial Complex Promotion Project targeting these complexes.
The Smart Green Promotion Project has provided 250 simulation-based process design support services through the Process Innovation Simulation Center Project (3 industrial complexes). It has also achieved results such as conducting 155 process improvement consultations through the Standard Manufacturing Innovation Process Module Project (1 industrial complex).
Additionally, through the Smart Energy Platform Project (10 industrial complexes), energy management systems have been established for 501 tenant companies to enhance energy efficiency and support low-carbon transition. The Integrated Control Center Project (10 industrial complexes) is also being promoted to strengthen safety management in the industrial complexes.
The Ministry of Industry is recruiting implementing organizations for a total of 7 projects and 26 new tasks through the 2023 Smart Green Industrial Complex Promotion Project integrated public contest. During the project period (2 to 5 years), a total of 314.1 billion KRW in national funding will be provided.
