Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong District, starts the new year with ‘On-the-ground Livelihood Inspection’

Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong District, began a livelihood inspection by visiting various parts of Gangdong for about three weeks starting from the 10th to hear the vivid voices from the field in the Year of the Rabbit.

Starting at Cheonho 2-dong Community Center on the 10th, the mayor toured all 18 neighborhood community centers in the district, meeting residents to listen to diverse opinions, sharing major local issues and improvement tasks by neighborhood, and gaining residents’ empathy.

Residents met throughout Gangdong warmly welcomed the news of the commencement of the Phase 4 extension project of Line 9 and the designation of two traditional markets as specialized markets by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Many residents expressed expectations for the newly changing Gangdong due to active redevelopment and reconstruction projects, while some also requested the establishment of living infrastructure and traffic measures.

For residents unable to attend in person, an ‘Online Dialogue with Residents’ was also prepared. From January 30 to February 2, every evening at 7 p.m., about 100 residents who applied in advance will communicate online via a video conferencing platform.

Emphasizing communicative administration more than anyone else and continuously collecting residents’ opinions, Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, “We will lead district administration in the direction residents want,” and added, “We will do our best this year to make Gangdong a charming city where anyone wants to live.”
