[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Jong-min] On the 26th (local time), at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first event commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Indonesia, called ‘Morning Talk,’ unveiled the 50th anniversary logo of the two countries' diplomatic relations.

According to the Embassy of Indonesia in Korea, the logo harmoniously combines the number 50 with the mythical creature ‘Garuda,’ symbolizing Indonesia, and the Taegeuk pattern, symbolizing Korea. The unveiled logo will be used for activities commemorating the diplomatic relations between Korea and Indonesia.

This year, the two countries plan to hold various commemorative events in Seoul and Jakarta to further strengthen their cooperative relationship. The relationship between Korea and Indonesia was elevated to a Special Strategic Partnership in 2017. Indonesia is also the chair country of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year.
