GS Retail announced on the 27th that it will install unmanned laundry lockers at GS The Fresh Yangcheon Shineun Branch and begin a pilot operation of this unique service.

The unmanned laundry lockers were developed in collaboration with the laundry specialist company Cleantopia and are equipped with their own terminals. Customers can easily drop off their laundry with simple operations, and also pick up their laundry once the service is completed.

The two companies plan to introduce this unique unmanned platform that combines nearby fresh food shopping with unmanned laundry services, conducting various tests including gathering customer feedback. They intend to gradually roll out the service to GS25 and GS The Fresh stores in the future.

To promote the unmanned laundry service, a large tarpaulin bag giveaway event will be held. Customers who use the service through the unmanned laundry lockers and submit the receipt received at the time of drop-off to the GS The Fresh Yangcheon Shineun Branch checkout counter will receive the bag. The event will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis for one month and may end early if the supply runs out.

A GS Retail official stated, “This collaboration with Cleantopia has become a stepping stone to providing unmanned services and unique convenience services ahead of others,” adding, “Based on the test results, we will do our best to quickly make the service available nationwide.”
