According to the police on the 26th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul searched and seized major portal sites such as Naver and Kakao in the second half of last year to find the person who obtained the live ammunition. They reportedly secured search records containing specific keywords such as "live ammunition" around May last year when the ammunition was lost.
The police are known to have identified the personal information of individuals who repeatedly searched for specific words like live ammunition and utilized this information in their investigation.
Earlier, on May 18 of last year, Police Officer A, belonging to the 101 Security Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, lost six rounds of live ammunition used for a .38 caliber pistol. The loss of the ammunition was confirmed belatedly during the inspection of firearms and ammunition during a shift change.
The police are searching for the person who found and took the live ammunition on suspicion of embezzlement of lost property but have not yet identified the individual.
