According to the '2022 Northern Gyeonggi Ambulance Activity Analysis Results' announced by the Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 26th, last year there were 231,662 ambulance dispatches, 129,208 transports, and 130,594 transported individuals.

The number of ambulance dispatches increased by 14.1% from the previous year (202,959 cases), and the number of transports and transported individuals also increased by 10.5% and 8.8%, respectively.

This averages to 635 dispatches and 358 transports per day. It means dispatches occurred every 3 minutes and 30 seconds, and one patient was transported to the hospital every 4 minutes.

Patients with illnesses accounted for 89,817 cases, making up 68.7% of the total, followed by accident injuries and traffic accident patients with 25,123 and 10,520 cases, respectively.

In particular, 2,118 cardiac arrest patients were transported, and by operating smart medical guidance and a multi-dispatch system, the on-site survival rate was 8.2%, 0.2 percentage points higher than the previous year (8.0%).

Among fire stations, Namyangju Fire Station recorded the highest number of ambulance activities with 37,987 dispatches. Ilsan Fire Station followed with 35,407 cases, and Paju Fire Station with 30,668 cases.

COVID-19 related patient transports totaled 35,619. The number increased from 2,499 in January to 3,071 in April, then decreased to 2,012 in May and 1,970 in June as confirmed cases declined after April.

However, due to the COVID-19 resurgence, the numbers rose again to 2,946 in July and 3,800 in August.

The average time from report to arrival on site was 18 minutes, but it took an average of 27 minutes to transport patients from the site to the hospital.

Dispatches where hospital transport time exceeded 30 minutes totaled 74,246, a 15.9% increase from the previous year (64,053 cases), which was analyzed to be due to delays caused by difficulties in selecting a hospital for transport.

Head of Headquarters Go Deok-geun said, "Based on the analysis of ambulance activities, we will promote customized ambulance policies and strengthen the capabilities of ambulance personnel to provide high-quality ambulance services to the residents."
